Graphic Identity

My logo was derived from the orignal Blue Lagoon logo in Iceland. I decided to keep the logo the same because this logo is very imporatant to the brand ‘s identity. The exclusive treatments and product line will be directly from the source, Blue Lagoon Iceland.

SITE:
7031 COMMERCE DRIVE
BATON ROUGE, LA

THE BUILDING IS LOCATED WITHIN THE TOWN CENTER AT BEAVER LODGE COMPLEX, WHICH IS LOCATED IN THE HEART OF BATON ROUGE.
THE AREA IS A NEW DEVELOPMENT, AN UPSCALE CENTER DESIGNED TO INCORPORATE LIVING, WORKING, SHOPPING, AND DINING.
IT WILL BE THE PERFECT LOCATION FOR THE BLUE LAGOON SPA& FITNESS.

THE BUILDING:
THE BUILDING CHOSEN FOR MY CAPSTONE PROJECT IS CURRENTLY PARTIALLY BEING USED AS A CORPORATE OFFICE BUILDING.
THE TWO STORY BUILDING IS A TOTAL OF 24,600SQUARE FEET.
THE FRONT FACADE FACES EAST.

INTRODUCTION

PROBLEM:
THE COMMUNITY OF BATON ROUGE IS GROWING AND NEW DEVELOPMENTS ARE ARISING. BECAUSE THE CITY IS CONGESTED, FAST PACED, AND CHAOTIC, THE NEED TO ESCAPE, RELAX AND REJUVENATE HAS EMERGED.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
HEALTH IS A KEY FACTOR IN THE HUMAN LIFE. IT IS NOT ONLY PHYSICAL AND MENTAL FITNESS, IT INCORPORATES THE SPIRITUAL DIMENSION. MY INTENTION WITH THIS PROJECT IS TO DESIGN A DAY SPA, AN ENERGETIC FITNESS CENTER, AND A HEALTHY JUICE BAR CAFE. I WANT TO CREATE A PLACE WHERE THE BATON ROUGE COMMUNITY CAN GET AWAY FROM THE CHAOTIC OUTSIDE LIFE AND INTO AN TRULY RELAXING AND REJUVENATING ENVIRONMENT. BLUE LAGOON SPA & FITNESS WILL BE A CENTER FOCUSING ON THE MIND, BODY, AND SOUL. A HUMAN NEEDS TO NOURISH THESE ELEMENTS IN ORDER TO LIVE A WELL BALANCED LIFE. BLUE LAGOON SPA&FITNESS WILL PROVIDE ALL THE COMPONENTS TO ACHIEVE SUCH A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.

MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY:
DESIGNING IS AN ART. IT IS A PROCESS OF COMPLEX STEPS WITH A PURPOSE IN MIND. WE AS DESIGNERS ARE USUALLY FACED WITH A DESIGN PROBLEM. OUR GOAL IS TO FIND THE BEST POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS, FOCUSING ON THE USES AND USERS OF THE SPACE. AESTHETIC AND ETHICAL DESIGN SOLUTIONS WHICH EQUALLY CONSIDERS HUMAN HEALTH & WELL BEING AND OUR SURROUNDING NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.

The Beginning...My Inspiration

LIVING IN AN COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CULTURE HALF WAY ACROSS THE EARTH WAS TRULY AN EYE OPENING EXPERIENCE. THE ICELANDIC CULTURE WAS SIMPLE, CLEAN, AND CENTERED AROUND ITS BEAUTIFUL NATURAL ENVIRONMENT. ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN ICELAND IS VISITING THE GEOTHERMAL DAY SPAS AND POOLS THAT CAN BE FOUND ALL AROUND THE COUNTRY.
A VISIT TO THE SPA PROMOTES HARMONY BETWEEN BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT, AND ENABLES ONE TO SOAK AWAY THE STRESSES OF MODERN LIFE.

"ONE OF THE MOST BREATHTAKING NATURAL PLACES I EVER SEEN"
